This was a self-funded project, a short film I co-wrote, co-directed with Nathan Loynes. On top of those roles, I produced it and edited it. It was selected for 8 film festivals for best short, including the Leeds International & British Urban.RESOLUTION is a 10 minute poetic monologue cut to narrative scenes based around the themes and social issues of teenage identity formation, race, gender, youth, child separation and parental alienation.A contemporary coming of age story set in the north of England ten minutes in length, the plot twists around the poetry of the unlikely lead; a fifteen-year-old girl.Somewhere between Ken Loach, a music video and the teenage angst records of the 80’s, Resolution illustrates Kairos’ emotions about the break up of her family and her trying to make sense of it all through eastern philosophies and self-actualisation.Ultimately, it’s a journey that illustrates what it means to be a young person in modern Britain, with an underlying positive message that aims to re-assure and inspire a young audience.We loved working with rising star Tillie Amartey who can currently be seen in BBC's 'Waterloo Road'."Courageous, daring, with perfect acting" Feel the Reel International Film Festival 2020
