AI is wild. The implications for expensive archive footage could get interesting.
I tested it on an old family photo..(my grandparents in centre of the frame…No idea who everyone else is)
This is a single frame black and white image I colourised and gave it as a source..
And it brought everyone to life.
When archive footage is often sold per second… the ability to create realistic and credible clips from single photos will be compelling.
At some point this will be a huge problem for viewer trust.. and I suspect it will be a problem very soon.
It will be hard to tell the difference between ‘real’ archive and computer generated archive.
But.. right now.. it’s super cool to play around with.
