In this 1 hour documentary, the team at Zandland spent months investigating the online world of “looksmaxxing”. Starting in the dark world of the incel forms, looksmaxxing is based on the idea that only very good-looking and tall men, “chads”, can succeed in life and attract women. Now new analysis shows looksmaxxing content has now become more mainstream, being viewed nearly 2bn times on Tik-Tok.
The film tells the story of the young men who go to extraordinary lengths using pseudoscience to try and improve their appearance. Some have expensive leg lengthening surgery just to gain a few inches in height.
Others use dangerous DIY treatments such as “bone-smashing”, where they hit themselves in the face with a blunt object, supposedly to improve their jawline.
