AI girlfriends might just be the future, but have we thought about what this technology really does? I dove head first into the not safe for work world of AI girlfriends and investigated the relationship they have with male loneliness and misogyny by getting my own AI girlfriend, interviewing an AI girlfriend programmer (who asked for his face to be blurred so his wife couldn't recognise him), and travelling to Cambridge University to talk to some AI ethics experts from the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence.
