Seeing as the previous post (https://www.thetalentmanager.com/hub/post/31067) resonated with our community and we are aware that some of you may not have seen the update on FB, please see the below update. We have been in touch with the poster and are happy to hear that they have contacted and received help from the FTVC & we have also signposted other places they can seek help too. For anyone who is experiencing similar, here is the link to some websites and organisations that can help https://www.thetalentmanager.com/blog/1306/where-to-find-help-with-harassment-bullying-and-mental-health-issues-in-tv
Hello everyone
I just thought you might want an update.
1) I was so overwhelmed with your kindness and support, I’m going to follow up as many as I can but just wanted to say Thank you very very much
2) while I am thankful for all your kind support I also am incredibly chuffed how my post brought out the discussion In the open, that so much of you were brave and open enough to discuss your stories and help my post have purpose. I wish you all achieve some support, work or whatever you need. Man you deserve it.
3) I still wish to remain anon because I don’t want to take my plight above what it is, my plight. It’s all our plight and while my situation is fucking bleak, I am not one, I am many so please continue to open up so the world can hear.
4) here’s the mad bit. As I mentioned in reply to a poster, I had spoken to my mp. Well. I had been to a “surgery” he did in town. When I met him I told him my concerns and my story in terms of the reality of working in the uk tv sector. The horror of the mental health situation and some of the stories I had to tell. Here’s what I came away with. There were 3 labour mp’s in the meeting. NONE had heard of Bectu. NONE had heard that C4 had sold their head office and NONE had heard of the looking glass report. Anyway. They were shocked and lost for words.
5) But I left With the idea what it would go nowhere. I wrote my post on here, and that afternoon my mp wrote to me by coincidence and apologised for a lack of response and silence but the government is on recess, but when it retired he’s going to raise it as a motion or whatever they do in the House of Commons plus contact members of the new government, more importantly the minister for Culture Media and Sport, Lisa Nandy, and raise my meeting and OUR story with her, to highlight our crisis. Who knows. Who knows.
6) can I say feel free to share the post to freinds etc and keep the momentum going. It’s about US so we should let this grow. Our industry deserves it. You deserve it CONTINUED IN COMMENTS

7) and finally, again thanks to you all but massive massive thanks to the admins of this group. I had no idea this would make it online I just sent it out of panic and desperation. They have been amazing and have done more for me than any of my employers, Bectu and god knows who else have done. I cannot thank them and this site enough. As you know they have sent our story far and wide and last check the post has been seen 3000 times on Talent Manager alone.
Thankyou so much and I want to send my gratitude to all those that are suffering and spoke up, I truly hope you find some positivity and fast. All of you
I’ll go now
Mad love
Update 2. Just spoke to the British Film and TV Charity and they were and are awesome. The lovely councillor called, I discussed my issues with and it was genuinely reassuring she listened. I want to say anyone….ANYONE….who needs help please please contact them. Now. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
