Is anyone having better luck with responses to job applications via Talent Manager lately?

@AmandaMoran Great question and we are hoping so as the team here have been having lots of conversations with recruiters about how important it is to do this. What do others think?
Amanda Moran
@SarahLee Hi Sarah, yes I remember the event you held for us to contribute ideas. I must say lately I can see my applications have been read/CV download for a few recent applications but not for others and no communication at all for the majority of applications. Just wondered if since our online seminar about this if people had noticed any change.

@SarahLee Nope not a lot. ALSO I've applied for jobs I've already spoken to people about after not hearing back from an email. I feel this lack of response/care for people mental states isn't great from the leaders in our industry. To apply for a role via somewhere like Talent Manager giving you the ability to see if someone has actually read/received it and then seeing they haven't is a soul crusher.

For my last 2 applications not even the cover letter has been viewed unless the information isn't displaying correctly but makes you wonder if the posting is not just an exercise
Amanda Moran
@LorraineO'Keeffe @SarahLee can confirm / correct me on this, but in the past when I have posted jobs on TM and email came through with the name of the person applying and their cover letter, so recruiters could see that without actually going on to TM?

@AmandaMoran I have never had any response from companies when applying through Talent Manager. I check the Job Applications section and if no action has been taken, I try and find a contact from the company that I can follow up with...
Amanda Moran
@MantasJankus That's a shame you've had no response at all. Before the current situation in the industry I used to find it went in peaks and troughs, so periods where there were letters, CVs etc viewed plus some kind of response either way and then other times nothing at all.

@AmandaMoran From last 10 job applications on TM - 6 cover letter read, 3 CV downloaded, 0 profile views. 2 thank you messages saying you have not been successful.

@AmandaMoran Disheartening to say the least Richard

@AmandaMoran yes you are right that recruiters can see lots of information without it registering as a view and we also have another problem too which is most recently many email system privacy detectors restrict us seeing open rates. So sometimes what you are seeing as ‘not a view’ might in fact be a view but as we just don’t know we can’t report it as one @Lorraine O Keefe
Amanda Moran
@SarahLee Thanks for confirming. I do remember when I saw this from the other POV wishing I had known about it, although it doesn't register as a view, I realised that at least the cover letter was arriving in an email. It's still nice for people to see views and I do remember now that you had mentioned the privacy detectors at our seminar earlier in the year too. But of course ultimately applicants would just like a response regardless of views I think?

We are mid some changes which will improve our chances of detecting views though and as part of this when we can’t detect a view it will soon start displaying as that so although you still won’t know you will at least be aware that this is different from how it appears now as a ‘non view’

@AmandaMoran My issue appears to be the fact I work the opposite side of the camera from all the job vacancies!

I think I’ve had one response in all the time I’ve been applying and so I spoke with a friend who works at a production company and she tried to convince me that I should understand that people are overworked and I’m in the wrong for expecting a response.
