A love letter to my peers starting out, or feeling stuck as a creative.
Online, I’m seeing a lot of frustration back home, and I’m not surprised with the state of it all right now.
If it’s not a case of hashtag #metoo in this industry, or workplace bullying, or very little work opportunities in unscripted/scripted, or colleagues who are bitter b*s#a^ds who don’t have an ounce of empathy, or just people who need therapy or anger management in general. I don’t think that’s just in telly or live events/ents, that’s in life. Trying to deal with those people via having a herbal tea, or doing some “breathing techniques” can help a little, but sometimes you just need a bloody good chat with a loved one or some bloody good time away from the miserable sods.
This is a big reason why I personally never want to reel off my experience, “Dumb it all down, especially as a woman.”
Remember why you started in the first place, in the creative world, don’t lose sight of that 🌻
If all that deep shizzle is too much to put into practise, at least you’ll get some belting stories or comedy material along the way.
