SEEING THE WORLD 🌍
I have had the privilege of travelling globally for work and seen places I may not have otherwise visited. Favourite day off whilst on location memories absolutely include:
Visiting penguins on Boulders Beach in Cape Town whilst shooting for Red Bull Productions
Wrangling a 241 business upgrade on a work flight to Doha for MDLBEAST - then being comped a massage in the lounge as the flight was delayed. Delay you say? And I get champagne AND a massage? No problem!
Dancing on stage to Bad Habits with Ed Sheeran and David Guetta in Ibiza on a Disney shoot for Fulwell 73 Productions
Visiting the idyllic / traditional island of Hydra whilst filming in Greece for Discovery+
Meeting the most beautiful children in South Africa when our local runner took me to his home village on my day off during a shoot for ITV
WORKING WITH GREAT PEOPLE 💏
TV is a tricky old kettle at times and people tend to gel or clash… I’ve definitely had my fair share of a*holes but I’ve also met some of the most authentic, inspiring and kind people on this journey
It would be unfair to try and name them all as I’m bound to miss someone out but suffice to say the A Team make it all worth while - people who have your back when you’re not in the room, who want to learn and are happy to intel share, who care for welfare of contributors and each other… who want to make the best content. These are my people!
MEETING NEW PEOPLE ☕️
When the industry gives you the chance to meet amazing new people - from colleagues to talent to fascinating contribs, it's wonderful
Expanding one's network also expands the mind and a coffee with a decent human always leaves you feeling great
I've been trying to expand my network in these quiet weeks and yesterday had the absolute pleasure of meeting a brilliant NW based PD Mark Warburton - I highly recommend meets with local crew you've met here to boost the soul and also have a natter about the current industry with those that understand
LEARNING NEW SKILLS 💻
I've hugely developed my skillset being thrown in the deep end on a challenging project and I LOVE that. I'll never not want to learn and thrive on trying the unknown!
SHARING SKILLS / DEVELOPING YOUR TEAM 👫
I genuinely enjoy helping others. I always say to those I work with that part of the time spent together should be valuable to them too - and I want anyone looking to grow to develop their skillset when working with me
THE FUNNY MOMENTS 🤣
Gosh there have been SO many - largely too minxy to repeat here but goodness what would be the point in working in this industry if it wasn't entertaining?!
I've had so many belly hurts from laughing moments on this mad journey It makes me smile
