The human condition allows us to think abstractly, considering the past and the future which shapes our thoughts and fears but also feeds our need to judge whilst seeking affirmation within our social groups. Fortunately for us, dogs live in the present without the capability to judge our bad habits or bulging waistlines, instead relying on the bonds based on trust, affection and consistent care to keep them by our sides. The dog show brings together owner and canine companion in a display of pride and genetic mutation.
