My timeline is becoming increasingly busier with more and more posts of TV colleagues avails... it is dire and it feels such a waste of so much talent

Many are talking of changing times and 'digital first' approaches by networks... but the fact remains whether its for terrestrial TV or 'digital first' nothing is being made - there might be a change in how we put shows out but we are not making many at all right now or in the foreseeable

The advertisers are not buying space as they once did - in turn meaning a downturn in digital advertising production too... the commissioning teams have nothing left to spend - with some shot series sitting on shelves and not even making it to post... the rare teams working are wildly overstretched and fearing voicing the need for support when so little work around

Its a total pickle. Actually- I like pickles... it's a total shitshow. And nobody likes a shitshow

I feel cheated 'losing' a job I love. That's not helpful but I know I'm not alone feeling that way and I am happy to share my worries in the hope it resonates with someone who may be feeling alone

I have no solutions or hugely useful advice right now but I do have a belief that we must communicate and support one another

My door continues to be open if anyone needs a natter or just wants to brainstorm how we can not only use our skills but find something we will - hopefully - equally love and thrive in for those that cannot keep waiting in hope for the tide to return
