TV BABYSITTING NETWORK
Hi everyone! My name is Rosie and I am a TV Assistant Producer mainly working in reality TV predominantly casting and story.
I am running TV Babysitting Network WhatsApp groups to help out both parents looking for childcare and freelancers who are out of work or just could do with earning some extra money. The idea is both parents and sitters can network at the same time as getting the help they need and earn extra cash.
If you are interested in being added to the group - please WhatsApp me 0787 680 9283 with your name and where you are from and I can add you to the relevant group.
I currently have groups for LONDON, BRIGHTON, MANCHESTER/SHEFFIELD/LEEDS (as one group) and if there is more demand I am looking at Bristol and Glasgow too. So please message if you have interest in either of those. Both parents and keen sitters welcome 😊
***The group is purely to introduce people and I cannot vet/DBS sitters in the group but they are all TV professionals and at the moment all female. It is to the parents discretion to meet them or call them ahead of a sit if they so wish.***
I will be the only admin of the WhatsApp group and only one to admit people in.
I’m really hoping it can grow and people can make some great connections for babysitting needs and for TV work. It can also be used as a space to request house or dog sitting if required.
Background/extra details
At the end of last year I was made redundant due to a job being cancelled because of the strikes in the US. As it was December, and being the awful year it was last year, there was nothing out there. I decided to turn to babysitting.
It is something I really enjoy doing and I got thinking about how it could potentially be a helpful ‘side hustle’ for other TV freelancers. On top of this, it could benefit the parents in TV who get last min work that need last minute childcare and at the same time a great way to network for future TV jobs.
It was here I made the WhatsApp group ‘tv babysitting network’ at the end of the last year. We currently over 100 in the London group with every job posted so far being filled.
Rules
Parents post in the WhatsApp when they need the sit, where and what time and it is first come first serve amongst the babysitters to snap the job up in the group. Details can then be finalised outside the group privately with rate, extra details etc.
