We are a small team at The Talent Manager and I can’t deny we are all proud of what we have achieved. We have shifted the dial to a model where the companies contribute the bulk of revenue needed to run the site and we think our model is fair given the complex ecology of the Production sector. But we know that there is lots of work still needed to be done.
That is why we are always looking to work with our community - freelancers and Indies - to continue to deliver the platform you deserve. The thoughts and comments that have been posted here over the last few days are really helpful. Our whole approach at TM has always been to listen, cooperate, collaborate and develop.
Freelancers today are in crisis and re-inventing the wheel would be doing a huge disservice to a community that desperately needs support. Urgent work lobbying for financial aid and for more regularised work cycles is what we think is long overdue and where we think the coalition should help.
Of course we’d like to be part of tonight’s discussion - and believe we know the history of, and complexities around, industry recruitment and databases - but understand it is for freelancers. We’re keen to carry on the conversation. You can contact us here, or email myself, Matt, Becs or Valentina. We are always keen to listen to feedback and ideas.
