Over a cocktail with Ceri Barnes Thompson - at the start of the year the idea for a podcast was born. Like many of you - we've been having a quiet time of it. So we thought we'd make the best use of the downtime to explore podcast production. We thought we could get our wonderful friends and colleagues around for a chat, and remind ourselves that when times are good this really can be the best job in the world, and we should celebrate that, even when it's sometimes tempting to jack it all in for a job in the Lavender Rooms.
For years and years, Julie Heathcote and I have been talking to people starting out on their TV careers and one of the main things they've learned from us is about the myriad jobs available that they didn't know existed. Over many, many cups of tea we have dished out advice and support. Now... with the help of some of our friends and colleagues, we have started a podcast to do more of the same - we hope it might be useful to all those aspiring to a career in Factual TV.
You may recognise the voices of wonderful TV Talent @FaayeWheatley, @MarkNorth, @AmyErrington, @Dave Austin, @OliviaButler and @HarrySmyth - in the first six episodes being released in the coming weeks.
And finally a big shout out to @BenaJones and the wonderful @JJMaurage - for helping us out too. Have a listen... and do subscribe.
