Refugees are scapegoated for injustices caused by the powerful, but we rarely hear their voices. That has to change. We went to Folkestone, an English coastal town where asylum seekers are crammed into military barracks surrounded by barbed wire, to find the truth.

What we found there was was shocking. Yet while people fleeing danger are so badly treated here, the vast majority of refugees are in poorer countries, and very few are taken by Britain, despite our governments' record of exporting violence across the world. @BrianWhelan
