Regarding gear - I took my own FS7 and a set of primes, but given the nature of the actuality I was usually using a 24-105 Canon zoom. Just used primes for the interview setups, most of which we dropped in the edit anyway. Those Rode 2 radio mics were great - I had my own Sennheiser AVX's, but the latency was annoying, and BBC Stores gave me a couple of those...
For the more frontline stuff, i often switched to the backup camera which was a small DSLR, honestly canot remember the model. It was pretty rubbish and overheated a lot, but was pretty agile and small
