Awareness film for the Speed of Sight Charity co-founder, Mike Newman. Completely blind since birth, he holds several land & water speed World Records, and will have a go at driving just about anything with an engine in it!The shoot involved a complex day filming him driving solo in a vehicle at Elvington Airfield. Although, for a blind man, he has plenty of driving experience (his fastest land speed record is 200.5mph!), he had never driven in a formation with a car 'in front' of him - in this case the tracking car we were filming from.Alongside the usual production requirements, I formulated & wrote the production guides we used to safely film him from the tracking vehicle while he was being given directions from a chase car behind.
