Elsa's book is a 'must-read' for anyone starting out in the industry.

I can't personally vouch for the book, not having read it, but Elsa and I were working together at Planet 24 when the IRA bomb went off next door - she had her car with her and offered me a lift off the Isle of Dogs, for which I am eternally grateful.

Wasn't Planet 24 based out in Canary Wharf in those days? L!ve TV was. (For younger readers, L!ve TV was Drop the Dead Donkey but worse & real. Its 'highlight' was its news bulletins performed by someone dressed in a giant rabbit suit.) When the bomb went off, rather than head to the scene (as you did @LeoCarlyon ) all of 3 mins away & get a scoop, they simply filmed through the window. At least a news editor had the nouse to shout ''Lose the Bunny'' just as they cut to the live bulletin.

Oh no, I didn't head TO the scene! I was in the Planet 24 offices at Heron Quay when the bomb exploded. Couldn't get away fast enough!

I did also work at L!ve TV for a bit pre-launch, working with, amongst others, Bethany Hughes and Sam Anthony.
