Blink Films is backing a factual indie set up by former Future Studios director of programmes Peter Wyles.
Nuntius Studios will specialise in premium history, science, true crime and factual entertainment docs, with Blink providing back office support and co-production opportunities.
Wyles takes the role of creative director of the company.
In his nine years at Future Studios, Wyles’ international credits included BBC/PBS co-pro The Day the Dinosaurs Died, Netflix’s Amazing Interiors and 5/Nat Geo/Netflix’s Attack on Pearl Harbor: Minute by Minute.
In a previous role as head of entertainment at September Films and DCD Media, he created, developed and executive produced BBC title Richard Hammond’s Blast Lab, ITV’s Hollywood Lives and Channel 4/Discovery doc The Tallest Tower: Building the Shard.
Blink Films creative directors Dan Chambers and Justine Kershaw said they saw “a lot of synergies” between the two companies.
Wyles praised Blink’s “amazing track record of delivering long-running hits and high-profile factual specials”.
Rod Henwood, chair of Blink parent company Tin Roof Media, said Wyles is “exactly the producing talent we are keen to attract to the group: he’s an entrepreneurial creative originator and producer of great output.”
Set up in 2007, Blink Films' latest doc, Hitler’s DNA: Blueprint of a Dictator, aired recently on Channel 4.
