Envy Group has hailed its acquisition of fellow post-production outfit the Halo Group as a symbol of “resilience through unity” in a challenging market.

With the deal coming after the closure of The Mill, MPC, Jellyfish and Glassworks VFX, Envy Group chief executive Dave Cadle said combining the groups into the UK’s biggest privately-owned post-production house wad about “securing a future where creative excellence isn’t compromised by scale or instability”.

In a statement, Envy said it is “committed to ongoing investment in talent development, remote production technologies, and innovation in post and VFX”.

Envy Group now comprises its existing assets Envy, Capture, Absolute and Blind Pig with Halo Group brands Halo, Evolutions and Relay and its offering spans high-end drama, feature films, entertainment, factual and documentaries, through to commercials, branded content, animation, and VFX.

All of Halo’s staff and facilities will continue to operate as usual.

Halo management team members including co-founders John Rogerson and Alan Jones have taken senior leadership roles at Envy.

Rogerson said: “This move isn’t about size for the sake of it; it’s about protecting what matters most, which are people, talent and craft. We’ve built our business on shared values of creative passion and client trust. Together we are navigating change.”

Envy Group creative director Natascha Cadle added: “We are not just expanding but we are creating an environment designed to inspire and collaborate. For us, this is about building a future where creativity has the room it needs to grow.”
