The executive producer of LOL: Last One Laughing UK has become Zeppotron’s director of programmes after 15 years with the company.
Richard Cohen’s promotion comes as Amazon Prime renews the competition format, which drew 6.1m viewers after 28 days of its launch earlier this year.
Zeppotron co-produced the six-part UK version of the international comedy format with fellow Banijay UK label Initial.
Cohen will stay on the show, as well as Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, which he has worked on since its launch in 2012.
In his new role, he will develop formats for the UK and internationally and champion new comedy talent.
His other Zeppotron credits include BBC2’s The Ranganation and Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and BBC1’s Would I Lie To You?.
The indie’s managing director Peter Holmes described Cohen as “a first-class producer with fantastic comic instincts”.
