Scottish indie Hello Halo has hired Remarkable Factual exec Joff Wilson as its first head of factual.
Wilson will help STV Studios-owned Hello Halo to develop formats to sit alongside the likes of Stacey Dooley Investigates and River Hunters, and has quietly been working with the Glasgow-based producer for several months as a development executive, creating a sizzle tape for a Channel 4 funded development.
In his previous role as head of popular factual at the Endemol Shine label, Wilson oversaw shows such as Your Home Made Perfect, Animal Park and The Big Interiors Battle.
He worked for Remarkable Factual in a variety of production roles from 2009 to September 2023 and previously freelanced for indies including Optomen, Hat Trick and Talkback.
Hello Halo managing director Wendy Rattray hailed Wilson’s “wealth of experience in this genre plus an infectious enthusiasm for development and production,” adding: “He joins us at a really exciting time and has helped Hello Halo secure some brilliant new formats already.”
