Edit Assistant
Description
Wildstar Films are looking to recruit an experienced Edit Assistant to join a production team on an exciting new blue-chip natural history series. This role will involve working on location in studios and on shoots, so applicants must be able and willing to travel.
Duties will include:
• Ingesting, syncing and organising rushes both on location/in a studio and the office.
• Preparing media for offline editing, including naming conventions and Avid project setup.
• Working closely with the production team to create sequence assemblies and selects reels.
• Maintaining project organisation, backups and media integrity across shared storage systems and location workflows.
• Preparing, organising and managing complex edit projects and media workflows from the earliest stages of production.
• Providing technical troubleshooting and workflow support across the team on location.
• Supporting Editors and Edit Producers throughout offline and picture post.
• Managing relinks, conforms, exports, consolidates and delivery materials.
• Liaising with Post Supervisors, Production teams, DITs and external facilities.
Ideal candidates will have:
• Excellent knowledge of Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve.
• Experience working within broadcast post-production workflows.
• Strong understanding of conforms, relinking, online workflows and delivery specifications.
• Experience working with Avid Nexis and shared storage environments.
• Strong knowledge of codecs, file formats and media management.
• Excellent MacOS knowledge and strong technical aptitude.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and additional post-production software is an advantage.
This will be full-time role, starting from 3rd August. The contract will be for 12 months initially.
