About Us
Bournemouth University’s Faculty of Media & Communication works across a range of TV-related disciplines, and includes: the Department of Media Production, the UK’s largest centre for professional media in Higher Education, and part of the CILECT global network of top film and television schools; the National Centre for Computer Animation (NCCA) which has been at the forefront of computer graphics and animation education and research in the UK since 1989; and the Department of Communication & Journalism.
The faculty is engaged in cutting-edge industry-focused research through the work of its research centres, which include: the Centre for Applied Creative Technologies, the Centre for Comparative Politics and Media Research, the Centre for Digital Entertainment, the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy & Management (CIPPM), the Centre for the Study of Conflict, Emotion and Social Justice, the Narrative, Culture and Community Research Centre, and the Centre for Excellence in Media Practice (CEMP).
Post-graduate education and professional development opportunities at Bournemouth include MA Cinematography for Film and Television; MA Directing Film and Television; MA Post Production Editing; and MA Producing Film and Television. There are also PhD and professional doctoral opportunities for those working in the industry.
