About Us

Chocolate Films is a full-service production company with extensive experience in producing beautiful, inspiring and compelling video content. We provide our clients with all forms of moving image content, including, but not limited to high-spec promos, case study films, long-term observational documentaries, how-to films, animated explainers, video installations and event videography. We retain a large full-time crew of talented filmmakers, project managers and animators who ensure that your film is delivered on time and on budget.

A TALENTED AND FLEXIBLE FULL-TIME CREW
Our crew are creative and versatile; they are just as happy working as part of a large crew, as they are self-shooting documentaries. They regularly shoot internationally. Our crews have recently shot in the US, the UAE, Singapore, China and across Europe. In 2018 we have already shot in Holland and Dubai. We also have a working partnership with crews in New York and San Francisco.

WE WORK EXTENSIVELY WITH YOUNG PEOPLE
Chocolate Films is a social enterprise, using profits to support a wide creative digital learning programme that encourages young people to learn video and animation skills. We work with between 2,500 to 3,000 young people every year, on projects at arts organisations, schools, colleges, PRUs and Councils in order to produce films with a youth audience in mind. Our team are all experienced at working in educational environments, have undergone safeguarding training, have extended DBS checks and are first aiders.

WE PRODUCE CONTENT FOR FOUR PRINCIPAL SECTORS:
EDUCATION, ARTS AND CULTURE, TECHNOLOGY AND CHARITY

EDUCATION SECTOR
In the education sector we create online content for education publishers such Futurelearn and McGraw Hill Education. In higher and further education, we produce content for UCL, University of Greenwich, Newman University, Birkbeck, Morley College, Kingston University and many more institutions. This work comprises long-form documentary, promo films, lecture films, online training and more. Our work in education also extends to education policy. In 2016 we produced a film Sir John Cass Foundation, which looks at 10 years of their influential lecture. The film features some of those speakers who have delivered the lecture over the last decade, including Ed Balls and Sir Anthony Seldon. We regularly produce learning and information films for clients as varied as The National Autistic Society, Tate, NHS Southwark, Jewish Museum.

Our crews are highly experienced at working in educational environments and understand how to work within health and safety requirements of a very busy space; for this purpose we use specialised camera and lighting, as needed.

ARTS AND CULTURE SECTOR
Chocolate Films is a leading content producer for the arts and culture sectors. We produce content for Tate, ArtFund National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, The Royal Collection, The Wallace Collection, Museum of London, Geffrye Museum, The Charles Dickens Museum, The National Maritime Museum, and many more. Our content ranges from exhibition content and installations to promos and video marketing campaigns.

TECHNOLOGY SECTOR
Chocolate Films is increasingly making content for the tech, design, engineering and science sector. Our clients include the Royal Society, the Science Museum, the Francis Crick Institute and ARUP. We have produced a film for the Science Museum’s Robots exhibition and we regularly work with UiPath to produce video content focusing on developments in robotic technology. For the Royal Society we produced a series of five films about leading scientists, filmed in Singapore in June 2017 and for leading design, architecture and engineering firm ARUP we have produced case study films looking at some of the firms leading women in the organisation .

We work extensively with the Aerospace Technology Institute. In the last year we have produced seven case study films that looked at some of the ATI’s most cutting edge aerospace research, design and manufacturing with clients such as Rolls Royce, Bombardier and Airbus, putting the UK at the forefront of Aerospace design and technology.

We are currently producing a series of nine films for UCL’s Institute of Healthcare Engineering. These 9 flagship projects will showcase how engineers are working with healthcare practitioners in collaboration.

We have a reciprocal relationship with US research firm Greenberg Inc. They are a client of Chocolate Films, as we look after the UK and European leg of their shoots, producing internal films for huge corporations such as Google, Snapchat and Facebook. For any shooting we require in the US, we can rely on the crews at Greenberg to capture the footage we need.

CHARITY SECTOR
As a social enterprise, Chocolate Films is passionate about producing films for the charity sector. Our charitable clients include the Big Issue and Big Issue Invest, Tate, the National Autistic Society, BookTrust, Divine Chocolate, the Wellcome Trust and Punchdrunk Enrichment. At the end of 2017, Chocolate Films produced two films for high profile charities. We made a Christmas fundraising campaign film for St. Mungos, which centred around an intimate case study about sleeping in London. In November a fundraising film we made for the Jewish Charity working with mental health in the Jewish community, Jami, successfully raised £500,000 in one night.
