Former BBC and Sky executive, Andrea Hamilton has founded Om TV, a new production company and joint venture with China’s 3C Media, it is announced today, Wednesday 18th May 2016.

Recognised as one of the most exciting emerging markets in television, China is currently being viewed as a land of opportunity by the UK industry. This landmark deal is the first time a Chinese production company has invested in a UK company. Based in London, Om TV’s primary focus will be devising and producing entertainment and factual entertainment ideas to sell and produce in the UK. They will also work closely with colleagues at 3C Media on co-productions with a global focus.

Andrea Hamilton, who will be Om TV’s CEO, has executive produced some of the BBC’s big entertainment shows of recent years including 'Strictly Come Dancing', 'The Voice' and 'The People’s Strictly for Comic Relief'. Prior to that she was a commissioning editor at Sky 1, commissioning entertainment and features programming for the broadcaster’s suite of channels.

3C Media was the first company to produce an international TV format in China with 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2006. Since then, they have gone on to become one of China’s leading production companies.
