About Us

CTVC is a multi-award winning independent media company which produces television, radio, digital and educational content on religion, moral and ethical issues from the perspective of all faiths and none.

Our aim is to get people thinking and talking.

Set up in 1965 by the late Lord J. Arthur Rank, CTVC is first and foremost a charity with a remit to produce religious, ethical and moral content. Lord Rank was a devout Methodist, a wealthy industrialist and philanthropist, but he was also passionate about the power of media as a way to educate, inspire and entertain.

With more than forty years in production, our work ranges from critically acclaimed, prime -time series PILGRIMAGE to intimate observational documentaries such as INSIDE THE BRUDERHOF, a radical Christian community which lives outside mainstream society.

Most recently we’ve secured BBC ONE’s flagship series SONGS OF PRAISE - the longest running religious television programme in the world!

With multiple UK and international broadcast credits to our name, including BBC, SKY and Channel 4, our programmes connect with a global audience, and we have the industry awards to prove it (please take a peek at our awards page on the CTVC website!).

CTVC also has a multi-BAFTA winning educational platform, TrueTube, which creates short films and resources for schools on RE, PSHE and citizenship, and our own podcast, ThingsUnseen, which produces thought-provoking radio for people who have a faith – and those who just feel intrigued by the spiritual dimension to life.

We are also incredibly proud to have trained over a thousand young people through various projects including our BFI Film Academy.

Finally, Hillside Productions is a subsidiary of CTVC, which specialises in bold, high-quality storytelling across multiple platforms and genres. Series include a brand-new live action, animation drama, MY FRIEND MISTY for SKY KIDS and Grierson-nominated and critically acclaimed sporting feature documentary, THE FALL.
