I am a self motivated and creative filmmaker who has made over 50 documentaries in a career spanning 20 years. I've won 8 Royal Television Society Awards and a Grierson Award. Most of my films are authored and over the years I have been described as having a 'brand' which is defined by strong, intimate, warm narratives, with an inquisitive line of questioning and ability to find humour in situations. As well as this I have executive produced series and single docs. My work has been shown on all the major channels, BBC, C4 and ITV too. I’ve made films with difficult access to such institutions as Vogue magazine, the Royal Ballet and a psychiatric unit for suicidal teenagers. I have run my own company, Platform Productions which is based in Manchester. I was described in The Times in 2016 as 'the best observational documentary film maker working in television'. In 2018 as part of a film with my son I was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyspraxia. Read Less
