Born of a father painter, geographer and explorer and a mother sculptor, he has been immersed since childhood in an artistic and creative universe linked to the spirit of exploration. From the age of 16, he divides his time between travel and the job of graphic designer. His professional adventure begins with graphic design in a publishing and communication agency where he learns fundamentals. He will then accompany the urban planner Guy Henry for 6 years until 2000, to manage and develop his agency. It supports all the images to be produced: publications, cuts, plans and perspective representation of the different projects. From 1990 to 2000, he will carry out many expeditions in parallel with his professional activity. In India and Nepal, in hard-to-reach areas of Tibet, on Karakoram in Pakistan and Afghanistan. In 2000 and 2001, he emerged from sedentary comfort and created with the help of his brothers an NGO in Afghanistan in partnership with the Guimet Museum in Paris and UNESCO. After several publications, and now senior in the publishing business, he participated in several books in tans as art director or illustrator. In 2003, he released his first book at Thames and Hudson, co-edited by Glénat in France and Frederking und Thaler in Germany. This first beautiful book is a success and sells more than 20000 copies. From 2003 to 2010, he took charge of the artistic and editorial direction of numerous books dedicated to adventure, exploration, cinema or art, and at the same time published his own books, at Flammarion, Télémaque, Arthaud and other publishers. He stays for three years in tans as art director in the agency DDB Paris, and is in charge of budget Audi, Rossignol or Castorama.
Simon Allix notes that his artistic creation and the singularity of his work are appreciated by the general public. He decides to move towards another one of his passions, the cinema. He evolved his graphics towards animation, then began to make his own films. Today, Simon Allix has assured the graphic design and artistic direction of more than 40 films for the biggest French broadcasters. He directed more than 15 films.
