I am an Emmy Award winning producer with a knack for finding and developing great stories. My passion for journalism began while embedded with Air Station New Orleans for The Weather Channel during Hurricane Katrina. Later, as a producer for Oprah’s Next Chapter and The Oprah Winfrey Show, I was able to write, develop and produce quality human interest and social justice pieces that reached millions of people. In 2015, I produced, wrote and directed my first, award winning, feature length documentary, selectED, which premiered at a number of festivals across the United States. In 2016, I had the honor of working as a freelance network news field producer for Al Jazeera America, where I developed, produced and covered national and breaking news for a global audience. Since Al Jazeera, I have focussed more intensely on documentary-style news production. In 2018, I relocated to Austin, Texas where I helped launch the Spectrum News Originals Documentary Division for their Austin-San Antonio Bureau. This past September we received the regional Emmy award for the hour-long documentary Lone Star Crisis: The Opioid Epidemic.
