Fernando worked for us over a year and a half in a highly challenging seven-part documentary true crime series set in Brazil for a major streaming service, and I am able to highly reccommend him. Fernando was one of the first to join the team, and his responsibilities involved work across the spectrum: from helping us research a very complex story and put together seven treatments, to working as an AP on the shoot (often filming on his own) as well as contacting contributors and helping organise interviews. Once back in London as producers were editing, Fernando headed efforts to fact-check all the episodes and co-ordinate complicated post-production requirements. Despite the multiple, high and sometimes stressful demands of a very complex project, he was at all times a friendly voice and a reliable worker.

Fernando was a senior producer on an HBO 4 part series (not yet announced) which I executive produced. HBO has submitted the series to the Sundance Festival and the commissioners are saying it is the best series their network has ever made.

Fernando is a brilliant creative producer: his ability to gain contributor trust and land challenging access is better than anyone else I know. And he is then brilliant at keeping them happy and on board, with firm, kind and thoughtful communication.

When Fernando speaks, everyone else listens. Behind his soft spoken manner, there is a strong editorial mind. His episode beat sheets showed clarity of vision and an ability to tell stories with flair. His influence over the look of the series stands out. The interviews and sequences he directed shine out in the finished episodes. His duty of care and knowledge of legal and compliance made a real difference. His input in the edit was essential.

Fernando is a passionate, dedicated and thorough producer. In my opinion he is more than ready to series produce or direct streamer premium programmes - and I cannot wait to work with him again.
