From a childhood immersed in theatre and role-playing games to my formal training at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School, storytelling has driven my life. In 2013, I graduated with a BA in Film Editing, falling in love with the craft whilst cutting the documentary 'Almas Censuradas' —a project that revealed the profound impact an editor has in shaping, enhancing, and adding complex emotional layers to a story.
I relocated to London in 2017, landing my first UK role as a freelance Assistant Editor on the BBC’s long-running medical drama Holby City. To deepen my technical expertise, I joined Argonon Post as a Junior Edit Assistant, earning a promotion to Edit Assistant within seven months, and gaining a comprehensive understanding of Avid Media Composer and the Post-Production workflow.
A major milestone came in 2021 when I was selected for the inaugural Grierson Trust DocLab In Focus: Editing scheme. Mentored by editor Joby Gee, this opportunity led to a nine-month Netflix placement as an Assistant Editor on 'Running with the Devil'. Since then, I have worked as both an Assistant Editor and Junior Editor across documentary projects.
My first Editor credit was on the documentary 'Made in England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger', which premiered at Berlinale 2024. Collaborating with the legendary Thelma Schoonmaker stands as my proudest and dearest professional achievement to date.
