I am visually strong - always attempting to capture powerful emotional visuals that linger in memories. I think I shine bright in the post process, able to intricately assemble and masterfully layer stories to build tension, pace, and suspense. I make great music choices, and I have a keen understanding of narrative storytelling's nuances. my work often moves audiences even to make them cry.
I began my career writing edgy articles for a fearless investigative magazine and then joined an advertising agency as a junior copywriter. A few years later, I was a scriptwriter and film director for governments, multinationals, broadcasters, and charities. I have succeeded as a writer and director in almost every genre, from soap operas to sitcoms, reality shows, and even big events. I have directed and written a feature-length documentary film, commercials and corporate identity films, branded content series, investigative documentaries, short drama-documentary films, and anthropological and wildlife TV series. I have written and directed more than 12 television series, including work for National Geographic, Discovery, CCTV, BBC, and Animal Planet. I worked for EXPO 2020 on the EXPO channel as creative director, working with multiple crews and edit teams, finding and producing daily content. In 2023, I was employed as creative director by Identity/United Nations for COP 28, responsible for the daily highlight reels. Other milestones in my career include a dramatic fiction feature film, Hatchet Hour, that was rewritten and produced based on my original script. I filmed Nelson Mandela’s tour to the UK and served President Thabo Mbeki’s Brand RSA team. Many of my short and long-format films have been selected to screen at “Oscar-qualifying” festivals. I have won over a hundred awards at international Film Festivals, including multiple gold Dolphin awards at Cannes Media and TV awards and New York TV and Film Awards.
