I have taken several productions from securing contracts with broadcasters or clients, developing creative concepts from scratch, setting up filming schedules, directing film crews and talent, hands-on involvement during the meticulous edit process, through to the delivery of the final product. My work covers a variety of genres which include food, lifestyle, current affairs and the arts. I am meticulous with time and budgets, a strong leader and great team worker. I am eligible to work in the UK.
My most recent project was a series of corporate videos commissioned by a supply chain management company to be used for recruitment purposes. Positive results were noted almost immediately after implementation.2018 was taken up by a documentary about transformation. It commemorates the 50 years of Tuks Camerata (the world renowned choir of the University of Pretoria) and shows how the choir serves as a model of successful transition from an Apartheid era university to a world class tertiary institution. I sourced and interviewed more than 30 respondents and was responsible for the directing, editing and script writing of this film which will be broadcast in early 2019.Another recent production (2017) is a documentary food series based on a traditional South African cookbook. The success and popularity of the series was reflected in overwhelming media exposure and high viewership. The cookbook on which it was based became a top seller and were out of print within two weeks after broadcast started. My career started with a television production company in 1997. Starting as a runner, I worked my way up to production assistant, junior editor, insert director and executive producer. We covered a variety of genres: from lifestyle, arts, food to current affairs. I gained extensive experience in directing and editing.I became self employed in 2014 and successfully produced several productions and documentaries for broadcast as well as corporate clients. I am fluent in English and Afrikaans.Past experience serves little purpose if you have no desire to push the boundaries even further. Something stretching, different and something that could show your range. And something that improves the world around you.
