Dan joined us for a two-year contract to direct two episodes of a CGI heavy natural history show called Surviving Earth commissioned by NBCU. The programmes demanded a high degree of organisation and quality finish. From the beginning Dan embraced the unique challenges of this type of show and championed the visual ambition it demanded. During the storyboard phase he was quick to master the complex science and convert that into story. On location, he was organised and efficient, bringing complex foreign shots in on budget. With his editing background he was equally comfortable in post. It was just a shame we could not afford to keep him on full time all the way to delivery because the graphics post phase was so drawn out. Generally, Dan is a calm friendly work colleague and was well liked by the team. Read Less
