Read MoreMÉLANIE GUAY has been passionate about music her whole life. She took her very first piano lesson at the age of 5, and went on to complete a bachelor degree in popular music. Today, she is living her dream as a singer-songwriter. She received a grant from the Conseil des arts du Québec to write her first album, and released Palais d’hélium in 2011 under the Disques Passeport label to much critical acclaim. Competing with her original material, Mélanie won the grand prize at the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée in 2008.Mélanie’s eagerness to take on creative challenges led to a Prix Gémeaux nomination for best music documentary for her work on Yin-Yang. She has collaborated on albums with Québec artists Nadja, Sonia Johnson, Emilie Lévesque, Marc Hervieux, Diane Dufresne, Annie Brocoli, Renée Martel, Richard Séguin, Luc de la Rochelière and Jonas. She has appeared as a singer-pianist on radio and television, including appearances on the Broco Show à Radio- Canada and in a number of commercials for Espace Musique.Mélanie has a growing list of TV credits, conducting orchestras and creating theme music for wellknown series in Québec and abroad, such as Juste pour Rire en direct, Les grandes entrevues, Chasse à l’homme, Septième round, Les Sosies débarquent, Palmarès and Studio beauté de Lise Watier. She has also worked on reality shows Pour le meilleur et pour le pire and Loft Story II, commercials and short films.
