From the age of 12 I have had a burning interest in broadcast media. Whilst at school I presented a radio show on a local community radio for a period of twelve months. Some acting focussed my ambition more closely on the world of television and becoming a television presenter. I was accepted on a degree course in Media and Performance at the University of Salford and have now graduated with a First Class Honours.I am regarded as an extrovert as I draw energy from other people, a fast learner and good at following instructions. My camera presence is engaging and highly regarded by the academic staff at my university and previous employers. I would bring a vision of diversity to mainstream television because of the type of person that I am.I am very open minded and understand all people of different shapes, sizes, colours and sexualities should have the opportunity to be in this difficult industry. In some cases, I feel as though the industry only presents a narrow vision of society and the people of the world. The research from my dissertation on representations of sexuality in British soap operas had enabled me to understand the drastic changes that have occurred on screen. And how diversity is shown much more in programmes and soap operas themselves.
