An editor at heart, I have significant experience as a producer and director in formats other than TV, including cinema films. I love editing, storytelling and filmmaking. I love a challenge. I relish crafting a multi-layered narrative whether dialogue, picture or music-driven.Happy to work alone or with client. Fully experienced in all stages from storycutting with edit producer to multi-stage exec review and fine cut/finishing. Specialities are music, obsdoc, unscripted, documentary and event films. I have worked in some of the most stressful and demanding environments known to man, woman or dog including the FIFA World Cup in Johannesburg and with Julien Temple and the Sex Pistols (see above link). Very happy (and proficient) in fast-turnaround enviroments; I am very nimble and quick. I am a perfectionist but not precious; I know when it is time to move on to the next cut. I am not shy to add my suggestions to the creative pot (if required) but also know when it is time to shut up and get on the the edit.Many years of TV editing experience using linear, Avid, Adobe, Apple, Quantel platforms in the UK and abroad to a broad range of clients (Japan, Germany, Spain, South Africa). Also travelled the world training people to edit. Fully competent in Media Composer, Premiere Pro and FCP as well as good skills with After Effects and whole raft of supporting apps. Worked extensively as a workflow advisor on many successful productions from the FIFA World Cup and Tour De France, to ITN news, BBC Creative and many other standalone broadcast docs.I started life at the legendary Molinare as a runner and cut my teeth as a broadcast editor at London-based (MTV rival) The Powerstation gaining experience in youth-oriented magazine-style, news and music television with the likes of Jo Whiley, Boy George, Chris Evans, Suggs, Jonathan Coleman. From there I moved into news, current affairs and (TV) features for a major satellite channel before going freelance. I have been freelance for over 20 years with experience across a wide range of genres including drama, promos, advertising, comedy, feature docs and high profile concert films. I have edited extensively in foreign languages most notably long stints in Japan, Germany and the Middle East. I have a good grasp of the Spanish language (and culture), certainly enough to edit with. I have also worked as a director & creative in the corporate/branding/event space; this lends a valuable understanding from this perspective. Key attributes: speed, patience, attention to detail, visual storytelling, comedy. I like working with music and dogs. Music editing is a speciality as I have worked as a DJ for many years and like to think I have a good ear. Read Less
