I recently conducted an ethnographic project for Ipsos ECE and researched people's behaviours and psychology. Previously, I helped with the development research at 'Nutopia' and 'Oxford Scientific Fillms', researched and arranged the filming for ‘Passion Planet’ and assisted in the post-production tasks at ‘Key Pictures’, which gives me a taste of different roles in documentary industry. While in China, I majored in Marketing as an undergraduate and during an internship at BBDO Advertising Agency, I conducted social research and developed strong research and communication skills.During my MA course in documentary at UCL, I filmed and edited several films, including one 17-minute graduation documentary and three 6-minute films. I enjoy exploring different subjects and genres.I am fluent in three Chinese languages (Mandarin, Cantonese and Hakka) and I used this to help arrange the shoot in China for ‘Passion Planet’ as well as edit films with Chinese dialogue for ‘Ipsos ECE’. Since China is one of the fastest growing film markets in the world, I expect that the number of opportunities for filming there will be constantly increasing so my mixture of language skills, film knowledge and marketing experience may be valuable.
