I’m a camera operator, content creator and photographer who specialises in current affairs, actuality and observational documentaries. I currently work as a camera operator and production specialist for ITV Meridian’s regional news in Kent.Prior to working in news, I shot independently on a number of documentaries, including ITV’s ‘Fraud Squad’ and C4’s ‘Over the Edge’. I also operated under direction on BBC2’s ‘Mr v Mrs: Call The Mediator’, as well as shooting second camera on BBC2’s ‘In Charlie Chaplin’s Footsteps – with Terry Jones’ and B Cam on ‘The Bigger Trip’ (an upcoming documentary series for ITV’s new platform Woo).My photography has appeared in several high-profile publications, including The Sunday Times, The Mail and the Evening Standard. In addition, I have qualified as a commercial drone pilot and achieved a PPA accredited master’s degree in journalism (distinction). My career in film and television began in 2007 as an in-house camera technician for Axis/Onsight LTD. Quickly progressing, I worked as a camera trainee for the BBC and subsequently as a camera assistant and digital imaging technician on documentaries in Qatar, rural China, and South America. Specific achievements include David Attenborough’s ‘Kingdom Of Plants’, ‘Galapagos 3D’ and National Geographic’s ‘Pandas: The Journey Home’.Working alongside some of the industry’s most distinguished directors, camera operators and technicians allowed me to build a broad skill-set encompassing considerable expertise with specialist cameras, as well as traditional camera operation, lighting, and photography. I have also worked as a technical manager, an edit assistant, and as a short-form editor. I’m highly proficient with both Adobe Premiere and Avid Media Composer — and well practised with DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut X. Filmed across rural Sierra Leone, the short film is just one example of a wealth of content I captured for the charity.
