Born in Lisbon, João moved to Porto in a young age where he discovered is passion for movies and photography. Studied cinema at Universidade Católica where he founded his production company.At the beginning of his career he traveled the world making films about surf. Since the first days he mixed storytelling with action and for that he got invited to work with Taylor Steele on a feature film, Se7en Signs, which gave him many shortlist and awards around the globe.Worked at BlackInk as Executive Producer and Director for several years, having the privilege to work with top Portuguese brands, agencies and TV Channels.In 2015 joined Garage Films in Lisbon as Director. For 2 years has worked with different companies and agencies. Fuel, Havas and Partners gave him the opportunity to highlight the human side of the commercials mixed with his growing passion for cinematography.Most recently João has decided to work as a freelance Director.
