Hi!

I’m Stuart and I specialise in creating drama and visualisations for documentaries. I take ownership of both the creative and practical delivery, and I love creating images that tell a story — working out where to put the camera, what to reveal, what to hold back, where the audience’s focus should be, and finding the performance that gives a deeper understanding of the narrative.

I work as a Drama Director, Drama Producer and 1st Assistant Director, and frequently combine roles. This allows me to bring creative and production thinking together, streamline communication and decision-making, and give productions greater value from the time and budget available.

With over twenty years' experience across premium factual and scripted production, I combine visual authorship with production expertise to get complex ideas onto screen. I work extensively with AI, VFX, Virtual Production, stunts, SFX and non-literal visualisations.

My background as an Assistant Director and Production Manager means I understand how creative decisions affect schedules, budgets, logistics and the wider production, and I bring that thinking into every project from the outset.

I’ve worked extensively in the UK and internationally, including South Africa, Ecuador, Bulgaria, the Philippines, Ghana and the Democratic Republic of Congo. I have two CVs which are available for download: one focused on directing, and the other on my Producer and 1st AD work.

If you’re looking for someone who can take ownership, reduce the pressure on your production team and find creative ways to get more on screen from the time and budget available, please get in touch. Read Less
