Yah-wan McClelland-Scott is a UK-based freelance edit producer, director, and self-shooter working across broadcast television. He also holds legal residency in Spain, allowing freedom of movement across the EU, and speaks intermediate Spanish, which is a strong asset on international productions. Working primarily in the unscripted sector, Yah-wan has collaborated with companies including Naked West, Shine TV, TwoFour, Licklemore Productions, and Ricochet. His editorial credits span broadcast and digital platforms, with work featured on BBC Two’s Rick Stein’s Cornwall, Channel 5’s Happy Campers, Sky Arts’ Unmuted, Wired’s Obsessed series, and Reebok’s Human Lab Space. Alongside broadcast work, he has directed and self-shot short documentaries and factual digital content focused on innovation in art, music, and technology. His short film Watch with Mother, exploring postpartum depression and complicated grief, screened at Sheffield DocFest, Encounters Film Festival, and the ICA in 2019. Yah-wan began his industry career in 2017 after being selected for the ScreenSkills Trainee Finder scheme. Following his training, he worked as a runner on a high-end BBC drama and as an assistant editor on the BAFTA-nominated feature film The Ghoul. He later joined Howard Overman’s Urban Myth Films, supporting executive producers across TV drama development, research, script editing, and pitch materials. His technical experience includes self-shooting on Canon, Sony, and Blackmagic cinema cameras; directing fixed-rig gallery shoots; and editing with Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro X.
