My dad’s first business was with his baby brother, they had a record shop in the 80’s and it was smashing. My mom is a doctor who sings and plays the guitar, so naturally the pops was smitten. It’s in my blood. I’ve inherited all of it really, as my sister could not create to save her life.Dad had to close up shop after my uncle had passed but he’s kept all the sound equipment in the house. Naturally I had swept around, curiosity had taken over and found empty cassette tapes, blank canvasses that shone with potential – hundreds of them. My mother had a cassette player of her own which she recorded song ideas on, and I used to sneak in recordings of stories that I wrote and voiced. It started out with voiceovers but then, I fell for film and the extra dimension that visual brought into storytelling. I even remember having a membership to every local film rental store within a 2-mile radius to ensure I saw everything. And for that, I thank my parents. However, they haven’t pursued creativity as a career and neither have I.I’ve graduated from Norwich Business School only to found a business that focussed on creating and discovering opportunities in the creative industry. I always found myself coming back to filmmaking as a creative outlet and decided to produce, direct and edit various projects for the business and for passion. My passion projects ‘Pictures’ and ‘My Mother’ had inspired a partnership between our company and the London School of Economics’ Institute of Global Affairs, The Guardian, Cannes Lions and Open Society Foundation to address the global crisis of migration. My films have been screened to the UN, a Russian film festival to an audience of 5000 people and I am proud to say that I have made my mama famous! The campaign ran in the summer of 2016, was picked up by Reuters, and the results were incredible with a bittersweet resolution that left all the attendees in shock.I haven’t chosen to study film at university but I have always found my way back to it. Running my business and creating film for it in addition to my experience at Connected Pictures, has given me insight and purpose to what I truly want to dedicate my life to. I'm open to expanding my experience and portfolio right now, so I would love to get involved with your project and use my skill set and abilities to try and make it the best that it can be. While I have a lack of formal training in the field, I hope that a look at my past projects and CV will show that I still work to a high standard, and with professional enthusiasm and skill.
