BAFTA & RTS Nominated, NFTS graduate, Documentary Filmmaker renowned for authentic present tense, unfolding contemporary stories and transformative journeys as well as ambitious fact ent shows. Have also produced and directed impactful, narrative driven brand/social media focused content as well as corporate videos.

With extensive prime time credits for the BBC and Channel 4, over the last 28 years I’ve earned a distinguished reputation for developing and delivering successful original singles and new series formats as well as breathing new life into established brands, working with some of the best independent production companies in the UK.

A super safe pair of well seasoned hands, with investigative and journalistic rigour, I've devised and delivered lots of original series formats and original singles, including winning a couple of commissions for my own wee indie. With oustanding observational and lighting camera skills, I always cover stories well, visually and editorially. My shooting scripts for more formatted productions make the edit a breeze. Producing with a light touch, I know how to get the best out of new and established talent. As well as oustanding observational camera/audio skills, (filming with a mixer), I've devised and PD-ed large scale drama recon and multicamera shoots.

My work oozes with humanity, empathy and depth of understanding, placing character centre stage. My tv know-how includes all the requiste skills and experience...securing access, investigative rigour, working with vulnerable contributors, handling sensitive subject matter, and proven editorial judgement both on location and in the edit, often managing multiple story-lines across different episodes. On the lighter side, when the format allows and requires, I pack programmes with produced jeopardy. All this and more are hallmarks of the compelling and impactful films and programmes I’ve made.

In 2024, I was elected to the Board of Directors UK to represent its members in the N&R and began writing about the film and television sectors on Substack, (SUSST), for the national and broadcast trade press.

In October last year, I began a three and a half year PhD research project, looking at impact of PSB commissioning and production practices on off-screen talent in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Funded by the Scottish Graduate for Arts and Humanities, I am working with Glasgow Caledonian University, the University of Glasgow and Directors UK as the non-academic partner. As a result of my advocacy work, I have been invited to submit reports to both the Scottish Government's Culture Committee and the DCMS.

Have FX6, FX3 & F55 Sony cameras with lots of lenses, gimbal, sound and a variety of lighting gear as well as a base in London.
