Primarily conducting research calls with guests ahead of the programme and writing in depth research briefs for the producer and presenter. I also work as a researcher on Radio 4’s Start the Week producing briefing notes on recent works of history, philosophy and sociology. This involves reading the works under discussion and compiling questions ahead of a research call with the author before producing detailed briefing notes. I have worked in television on developmental research for a major BBC global history series. I would be interested in further work in developmental research. I have also worked at Storyvault films on a Sky Arts programme in a research capacity. Previously I worked full time as a researcher at the Guardian and Observer providing support for journalists in a deadline driven environment. I pitched, researched, wrote and edited multiple ‘from the archive’ articles for the Guardian website across a range of topics. Please visit this link (https://www.theguardian.com/profile/harry-burton) to read these. I have also written for history magazines.
