I’m a freelance camera operator and photographer with over a decade of experience in both fields. I’m loyal and reliable with a dry sense of humour, and a focus on attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting everyone on the team however I can. Moving from Aberdeen to London in April 2002, I started as a post-production runner at Pepper. Within four years I’d become a studio camera operator on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, leading to a career spanning staff and freelance roles, operating everything from pedestal and handheld to Merlin crane and railcam on thousands of hours of broadcast television. I started Owen Billcliffe Photography in 2007 as a second creative outlet, at first specialising in unit stills for production companies including Film4, and then as a documentary event & lifestyle photographer for some of the world’s best known brands including Virgin and Hootsuite, as well as wedding and family event photography.
