Shooting AP / Development AP
Confident and hard-working Shooting AP / Development AP with over 10 years of experience in the TV/Film industry working on a variety of films and formats; Docs, Fact Ent, Ents, Specialist Factual.
Currently working as a Floor AP on 24 Hours in A&E (C4). My contract is due to end on October 15th and I am availbale anytime from then on.
Prior to 24 Hours In A&E, I was a Shooting AP at Orchard Studios for a C5 series and at Shine on Hunted (C4), for both the civilan and celeb series, as part of their fugitive filming teams.
Before Hunted, I spent 5 months working as a Shooting Producer on cinematic feature doc "All In The Game" (w/t) for North One TV where I was given a lot of responsibility for independently managing relationships with key contributors and shooting, directing & producing key sequences on my own (FX6). Prior to that I spent two months working as an Embed AP on Race Across The World (Series 5), following contributors Brian & Melvyn.
From Summer 2023 - Spring 2024, I spent 8 months on location in Mexico as a Shooting AP using FX6, FS7, A7S and Ronin 3 Pro, on a sensitive access 12-part police series filming out in Mexico for US broadcaster A&E, following an elite unit of police in Mexico hunting American fugitives that have escaped across the border.
I worked closely with local fixers and liaising with police and authorities to build relationships and develop access, helped produce Talent and contributors on location, researched and identified new areas of access, characters and stories, shooting 2nd camera in the field, main crew member responsible for DIT.
Prior to that, I worked on HE sports series “Premiership Rugby: Mud, Sweat and Tears” with Fulwell 73 for SVOD Amazon as a Shooting AP using FS7, FX9 and the Ronin 4D.
I was Integral to the production team both in researching and identifying characters and storylines and then embedding with clubs to build relationships with players and both produce and film sequences working closely with my P/D James Howard. Shot principal camera for some interviews with central characters, and vox pops with fans and B characters in the stands during live matches, as well as 2nd cam for other interviews and sequences, and was almost solely responsible for filming with the Ronin 4D during production which is used heavily throughout the film.
From 2018-2023, I spent 5 years at a small indie, Faction Films, where I was responsible for all aspects of developing, producing, and selling documentaries. Most noteworthily, I was integral to making our feature film as Shooting AP, Off The Rails (2022), following our contirbutors, shooting, directing & producing sequences on the ground with them on my own for 3 years. The film won numerous awards worldwide including Best Film at NZ Doc Edge which qualified it for the Oscars’ longlist, and for which my Director was nominated for a BIFA 2022.
I have a track record in securing commissions and development deals for broadcasters including Taliban 2.0: A New Dawn (ZDF/ARTE), Parkour Changed Our Lives (BBC3), “Coke in the City” (BBC3), “Lorries” (C4).
I am full of energy and ideas, enthused by telling great stories, and relish the challenge of both development and production.
I’m looking to continue further honing my skills as a Shooting AP or in a development team.
