I'm a hard-working, reliable and highly motivated assistant producer who is looking to expand my credits in documentaries, specialist factual, factual entertainment and travelogues. My experience ranges from observational documentaries on location and across story and compliance, in specialist factual undertaking detailed research and casting relevant contributors, and in factual entertainment and live studio shows, working with high profile talent and putting together topical entertaining content. I am looking for my next series to throw myself into - I am a huge team player and put everything into every project I work on and look forward to seeing what the future holds. I am an experienced Assistant Producer, and feel ready to step up to Producer soon should the opportunity arise.
I have just finished an incredible 1.5 year contract at Blast Films as an AP working on Netflix's premium obs doc "Missing: Dead or Alive" (Series 2). In this role I spent 8 months on location in South Carolina, working in a small team embedded in the Sheriff's Department. As AP, I built strong relationships with contributors, negotiated access in often tricky and sensitive situations, kept across all story aspects of the case and managed the story database - updating it daily and creating story documents for the edit, I live logged scenes as they happened, and assisted the PDs in everything they needed. After the main filming block had ended, I moved into the edit - supporting edit producers with all requests, compiling sequences on avid and sourcing rushes. I was the main compliance lead on the series and created detailed compliance and legal documents, as well final post production paperwork. I also was responsible for sheduling and attending pick up shoots back in the US, coordinating the cops availability and AD'ing for pick-up shoots.
My other recent AP work includes working at Good TV on a new Channel 5 documentary about Broadmoor Hospital. In this role I was responsible for sourcing and casting relevant contributors, conducting research chats, doing indepth research on the subject matter, setting up shoots, writing scripts and operating the second camera for the master interviews. Prior to this I worked at Arrow Media as Story AP. Here I was responsible for sourcing archive / stories for the series "Late Night Lock Up", pitching stories, and being across compliance and legals.
In 2022, I worked as an AP on a location job out in Qatar for 4.5 weeks for SpunGold TV's 'The Pearl: The World's Most Luxurious Island'. In this role I was responsible for story finding, setting up shoots with a quick turnaround, casting contributors, negotiating and managing often tricky access, maintaining excellent relationships with contributors, putting together daily schedules, releasing contribs and locations and assisting the PDs with whatever they need on location. Prior to this I was AP on the second series of BBC's "A Life in Ten Pictures", a series I loved working on, where my role included detailed research on the subjects of the films, finding and casting relevant contributors, conducting research chats, setting up international shoots, sourcing locations, and archive research.
My other AP credits include Crackit's / ITV2's "Emergency Nurses", working on location assisting the PD, writing detailed story notes, getting consents for everyone on camera and finding the best stories to cover, and working on BBC's flagship blue light documentary series "The Met: Policing London" as a Story AP. Within this role I was responsible for being across all filming that was going on by all our PD teams, collating their story notes into one master document, being on top of compliance and legal issues, archive research, and acting in producer capacity on location whilst filming out with the police in often intense and tricky scenarios.
Between Dec 2019 and June 2021 I worked on the live magazine show, The One Show, writing guest briefs, conducting research chats, coming up with ideas for the show, and pitching topical ideas. This role also included a lot of archive research and clearance. I also have extensive experience with fact checking, creating and compiling VO scripts, and dealing with vulnerable and sensitive contributors. I have experience booming, live logging and having consent chats with contributors, as well as casting and phone bashing.
I am confident. personable and a great team player who loves meeting and working with new people. I have French and Italian language skills and I'm happy to work on location around the UK or abroad. I am currently Leicester based but also have a base in the Lake District. I am looking to move back to London if a job should come up that requires me there.
