He is known for converting a novel, ‘Hidden Destiny,’ into a feature-length script, which came in the top five Hollywood Wind International Film Festival. His journey for telling stories started when he previously studied at East London University in 2009, studying Media Creative Writing enabling him to write a short film, ‘Whose Job Is It?’ which was promoted on behalf of Wall Of Comedy and received over one million views on Facebook. It premiered on JFilmsart’s platform, (YouTube).
Although Dee continues to be a freelance, he went on to write his follow-up short films, Valerie, Norman, Free Santa and Capture, a Sci-Fi/Thriller, which was screened at the BAFTA and accepted into the prestigious 70th Cannes Short Film Corner and Sci-Fi Film Festival. It was nominated for Best Short Film at Screen Nation Awards in June 2020. The film later premiered on one of the fastest-growing independent online youth platforms for film in the UK, Million Youth Media, where it achieved over 51,000 views.
Dee went on to edit a short film, Strings, Produced by Andre Fyffe, which was created for the Adobe challenge. It’s currently premiered online on the Million Youth Media platform. Dee’s recent short Documentary, Deleted, was accepted into prestigious Film Festivals such as Soul, Triforce, British Urban Film Festival - BAFTA qualifying, Sunderland, Angelica, Winchester, Edinburgh and it won an award at Southport Film Festival. It’s now available to watch on Amazon Prime. Dee also went on to co-write two feature films, The Marriage and The Storm, which is set to be released on Netflix.
Dee continues to be one of the writers who is proactive about his career. This has led him to graduate with a Master’s Degree at the Royal Central Speech and Drama, studying MA in Writing for Stage Broadcast Media. Dee has just finished editing a feature, Single As Fuck, written by Louise Cousins who is the Executive Creative Director for Hulu, Disney based in L.A. He is now developing ideas to pitch for a TV Series to Channel 4 and ITVX.
