Waseem Mirza is an award-winning British TV presenter, trained actor and voice artist whose career sits at the intersection of science fiction and science fact. Whether on screen as an actor or in front of the camera as a broadcaster, he brings curiosity, credibility and authority to stories about the worlds we imagine and the future we are already building.

As a television presenter, Waseem built his reputation at BBC News, where he produced and presented films as a self-shooting producer and on-screen talent. His work has explored pioneering stories ranging from cutting-edge technology and innovation, including the search for extra-terrestrial intelligence from a back garden in Cambridge, and the world's first edible 3D-printed raspberry .. to future-facing ideas including space tourism.  He began his career on the BBC’s flagship technology programme Click. Today, he continues to appear across broadcast media and is regularly quoted on developments in innovation, technology, AI and the future of entertainment, in publications and platforms including bbc.com, BBC Sounds, Radio Times, The Metro, and NTD News New York. His latest unscripted work includes the BFI premiered NFTS science documentary short: "Word of Mouth" directed by Antony Grech, exploring AI and language across borders.

As an actor, he made his screen debut in Warner Bros. Television’s Pennyworth, the Batman prequel drama from DC Studios, later returning in Season 3 to reprise a version of his former BBC News role. He also plays a recurring journalist in The War Between The Land And The Sea, part of the Whoniverse, with Russell T Davies calling him “our great joy!” on the show’s release. His other screen work includes The Diplomat, a US-commissioned British police procedural drama for AMC Networks, a BFI-funded feature cast by Des Hamilton Casting, and award-winning short films.

Together with his work in the DC universe, Whoniverse and sci-tech filmmaking, his current direction reflects a profile that is genuinely distinctive: a performer and presenter who unites science fiction with science fact across both scripted and unscripted formats. Alongside his screen work, Waseem is also a voice artist with a broadcast-quality home studio, recording for television, games, corporate and e-learning.
